Vienna & Mario Kart Wii

Sat Apr 19, 2008, 11:12 AM
Been a bit busy lately, just got back a few days ago from a week over in Europeland with :iconmailtroid: & :iconimiak: and also their friend Yuki. Brilliant fun, celebrated Mailtroid's birthday, played lots of great games and went on various adventures throughout the city of Wien.
Had to travel through Heathrow's new Terminal 5 amidst the horrors of the baggage troubles that had plagued it the previous week - but considering I wasn't travelling too far I wasn't really concerned about my bag getting lost. At first I thought it just looked like every other airport I've been to, but it certainly does have a...er...je nes sai quoi about it. The restaurant I stopped by to waste time at had the best coffee! The day I was travelling was thankfully bright too, so I could take advantage of oogling through the big glass panes that cover the side of T5. Very nice indeed.

As much fun as Wien was, it was nice to touch down on English soil again. Good ol' Blighty...didn't realise how much I missed it until I was gone hahah. I really should organise more outings within the UK, I've been to almost every bloody county in the south I could work as a tourguide.

Yesterday bought myself Mario Kart Wii, having a blast playing it too. The bikes are so fun to ride! Only problem being I'm absolute rubbish at it that I can't get those three-star rankings. Probably take me a long while to update my license hahah. Haven't tried out the online features yet, but really do want to have some matches (and battles!) with people. If anyone else has MKW and you want to have some races then drop us a line. Anyone and everyone is welcome to play - I'll most likely lose anyhow, I've not got the complete hang of it yet. The retro SNES Battle Stage needs to be played badly hahah!

My girl has already seen MKWii in the stores, but we don't have money to bought it... and we still waiting for the damn SSB Brawl D:<...

But anyway... i can imagine how fun was that trip xD... i just went already to France, near to Paris, by Car!... Yeah really, more than 1000 KMs, by car, from Portugal West coast, to Paris.... God damnit @_@... i was always in the car, and it was 2 days of trip... with nothing to do xD.

Aww that's a shame, well if you ever do get it then let me know if you want to have a race!

Ah yeah, I've been to the south of France many times by car as well. I think from Portugal to Paris is longer than Southern England to Southern France, but I can remember those hot car journeys too well! Having to stop every hundred miles to stretch your legs in a car park, hahah. Good times!
I've yet to go to Paris though...might take the Euro Tunnel to it for a weekend trip sometime.

Oh thank god I'm not the only one to suck at Mario Kart. I'd like to blame my constant D rankings on the Wii Wheel rather than gross lack of talent :slow: Although I'm more likely to blame it on the fact I constantly get hammered with blue shells fffffffffffffffffff

It's out? Are you serious? I thought it didn't come out for another week (27th)!

Either way, I've been looking forward to this more than Brawl. I'll definately be buying this ASAP, and I'd be more than happy to vs you if you'd like~
Does that mean people don't mind you speaking English, or that you just don't speak English over there?
If I'm honest, I haven't even taken the wheel out of its plastic wrap yet lol...I figure I'll save it for a special time, like when friends come over! For now I'm pretty content with my Wiimote.

And I hear your pain, I can't get much higher than A/one-star ranks...why is it so bloody hard?!
I love how when I'm doing so well to get a three-star rank, out of nowhere comes a blue shell...followed directly by lightning, then a red shell...then a banana. What a load of balls!

Up for a match sometime?

I think it's one of the rare times a game comes out in Europe before USA!

And I agree, I'm definitely not a good Smash player. I don't find the game that fun either...but Mario Kart is a whole other kettle of fish. Love it! And of course, I'd love to have a match with you when you get it!

Pretty much both! I couldn't get my head around the straight-talking language of German, which is why I opted for flowery French instead at school. All I know in German is "please" and "chocolate swiss roll"...otherwise I had to rely on my friend to translate for me!
